The entire staff at Pedagogue
Solutions wishes you a Happy New Year. Like most people
the beginning of the year is a time for us to reflect
on what we have accomplished the previous year and to
look ahead to what we hope to achieve in the coming
year.
For us the biggest accomplishment of 2007
was the completion of the Pedagogue Assessment Management
System Version 9.0. It is full of new features facilitating
the linking of learning and measurement. Several of
our clients are already beginning the transition from
Version 8.1 in order to take advantage of these new
features. (Visit www.pedagogue.com/sneakpreview
for an overview.) As the leading life sciences assessment
company we added several major new life science clients
and quite a few small/mid-sized companies. Among our
other new clients are a manufacturing trade association
that is using our system for certifying its 6,500 members
and a national training organization that will be testing
over 5,000 new students per year. We now speak six new
languages (17 in total) and continue growing our professional
services business helping our clients develop valid
and reliable tests. We delivered our “Best Practices
in Test Development” workshop over two dozen times
in 2007.
What can our clients look forward to in
2008? No sooner did we put the finishing touches on
Version 9.0 than we began designing Version 9.1. Our
preliminary plans are to release it in the third quarter.
New features will include:
- Enhancements to
six of the existing question types, providing improved
question flexibility
- Addition of four
entirely new question types
- More flexible
rich media, improving the display of graphics, audio,
video and Flash within questions
- Some great new
measurement and reporting features (top secret for
now!)
- New manager/employee
communication features to facilitate coaching
- New test security
features
As usual, as soon as we complete one version
we are anxious to begin on the next. And we are always
thinking ahead: We are just starting Version 9.1 but
we already have a rich requirements list for Version
10.0. (It’s not too late to get us your
wish list.)
As always, if we can answer any
of your testing-related questions, please contact
us. We hope you have a rewarding 2008!
Warm regards,
Steven B. Just Ed.D.
