Pedagougue Update

We at Pedagogue Solutions hope you had a restful and enjoyable holiday. As we begin 2007 we thought it would be an appropriate time to share with our friends in the assessment community some of our 2006 accomplishments and what we look forward to accomplishing in 2007.

As many of you know 2006 was a year of transition for us. For many years we had essentially been in two businesses: eLearning and on-line testing. After a long and careful analysis we decided in late 2005 to exit the eLearning business and focus on what has always been our core competency: on-line testing. Because we were able to fully focus on this one area, our testing business has grown faster than any of us could have predicted.

Perhaps our fastest area of growth was in the global marketplace. Pedagogue was built from the ground up as an enterprise, global system, and during this past year our clients put these features to good use. By the end of 2006 we were delivering tests in eleven languages to almost 60 countries.

As the only truly 21 CFR Part 11 compliant testing system (it has been rigorously validated by more than half a dozen companies) we did an increasing amount of testing in regulated areas of the life sciences. In 2006 we delivered significant numbers of tests in manufacturing, operations, clinical research and compliance, in addition to our “traditional” marketplace of sales training.

This past year witnessed an accelerating movement towards strategic assessment in the form of valid, defensible outcomes measurement. As the recognized test validation experts in the life sciences we reviewed thousands of test questions for validity, and consulted with half a dozen companies on test development methodology. Our workshop on Best Practices in Test Development was in high demand in 2006.

And what about 2007? After months of intense design work, we have an exciting new release (Version 9.0) coming in the second quarter of 2007. It will have important new features, found in no other testing system, linking instruction, assessment and certification. Both our PedagogueDirect clients and our licensed clients will be learning about these features in the coming months. We think you will share our enthusiasm.

Wishing you a healthy and prosperous 2007.

Warm regards,

Steven B. Just,
President
